Judges Choice at the Best of Britain Showcase – Hillman Husky

We were genuinely shocked and honoured to be invited to the Best of Britain showcase at the Hot Rod & Custom Show.

To then come away with the ‘Judges Choice’ award for the Hillman Husky was something else entirely.

This wasn’t a car built to win trophies. It started as a vision of mine. Something a bit different, something that didn’t follow the usual formulas. A car that would spark conversation, divide opinion, and most importantly, make people smile.

And that’s exactly what it’s done.

Seeing it recognised by the judges, who clearly understood that same vision, means a huge amount.

Like most builds, it’s not perfect. It still throws its challenges at us, strange noises, the odd smell, the kind of quirks that keep you on your toes. But the moment you get it out on the open road and put your foot down… none of that matters.

That’s what it’s all about.

That feeling is the reason we do what we do.

A big thank you to the judges for the recognition, and to everyone who stopped by for a chat over the weekend. It’s always a pleasure catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people, and talking through these incredible builds with others who share the same passion.

To top it all off, the Chevrolet Bel Air we restored a few years back picked up ‘Best Paint’ — which is something we’re incredibly proud of.

A great weekend all round.
